Jump Environmental Group Showcase
When the word went out in Jump that the War Memorial needed some love and attention it was the Jump Environmental Group that took up the call. The group works in and around Jump to improve and keep clean the local environment for all. They come together to pick litter, plant flowers and bulbs and do all the stuff we take for granted when it comes to a nice place to live. So it seemed only natural for them to care about the War Memorial in the Cemetery.
The memorial looks a little drab and in need of a bit of TLC ready for this Remembrance Sunday.
Thanks to this fantastic group of local volunteers Work gets underway to clean up the memorial and plant the flower beds.
Even local Councillor Mick Stowe took up a trowel, saying that this was a worthy cause and something to be proud of being involved in. He also told us that the group had applied for funds to get the stone work and monument cleaned by professionals.
Thank you to Jump Environmental Group, The Tidy Team and local Councillor for coming along and planting up the War Memorial on Cemetery Road in Jump. Thanks must also go to Wentworth Garden Centre; Morrisons and Tesco for donating plants to Jump Environmmental Group to allow them to carry out this project
